This is a prayer request. When you add a prayer request you get the option to add an email address and receive an email when someone prays. So each time someone prays you get an uplifting email saying someone prayed for you (site managers can customize the email that's sent). You'll also receive an email with links you can use to mark your prayer answered or delete your prayer request.
When a new prayer request is added an email is sent to the admin so the admin can approve the prayer request before it's displayed on the website.
